Film Intro Survey
1. What is the first movie that really made a strong impression on you?
Sleeping Beauty was the first movie that really jumped out at me. As a kid, I remember being really into the Disney princess movies. After watching that one, I was so scared by the witch who turned into the scary dragon. I remember thinking how cool it was that the fairytale movie had a more thrilling side to it.
2. What are 3-4 of your favorite genres?
My four favorite movie genres are romance, comedy, action/adventure, and animation.
3. What are 3-4 of your least favorite genres?
My four least favorite movie genres are documentary, war, horror, and sci-fi.
4. What are your five favorite films?
Horrible Bosses, Transformers, Up, Remember the Titans, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
5. List three characteristics of what you consider to be a good movie.
A good movie makes the audience react with emotion (whether it makes people cry, laugh, scream...). Also, a good movie has a structured plot with a strong beginning, middle, and end. The last characteristic that makes a movie good is its music. I believe that having the right music to fit each scene of the movie is very important.
6. What are some of your least favorite movies?
The Back Up Plan, 500 Days of Summer, and The Secret Window.
7. List three characteristics of what you consider to be a bad movie.
A bad movie has no ending result and a confusing plot line. I hate it when movies end abruptly and the plot had no structure. Also, a bad movie is predictable. The best movies are the ones that throw you off track and really make you guess. Finally, a movie is bad when the audience can't relate to the characters. I love it when I can really understand each character and get into the film.
